|Are you unemployed or do you need a better job? Connections can help you.
Your first step: Job Club
Orientation is offered every week:
Attending a short Job Club orientation is the first step to accessing all of Connections services.
Topics covered include:
- An overview of Connections and the services we provide
- Identifying and locating job opportunities
- Understanding how to best market yourself in today’s tough job market
- Crafting your cover letter and resume for maximum results
- Preparing for the interview
- Follow Up
After attending Orientation, you may make an appointment for an individual meeting with a Job Advisor.
Your Advisor will discuss your job history, your goals and desires for your new position, and will assist you with best options. She will review your existing resume or help you create a new one, discuss training, provide job leads, and offer interview clothing, if needed.
This is the chance to get professional assistance, learn how to make the most of your job search, and create a customized plan for your success.
Offered to all Connections clients, computer training is provided in several ways. Call the office to find out class times and learn more!
Available any time during office hours, work at your own pace. Learn keyboarding skills, basic Windows and software programs such as: Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, and more.
Group Computer Classes
Offered twice monthly and covers very basic computer introduction and a more advanced class on how to navigate the Internet and apply for jobs online (includes creating an email account, registering online, uploading a resume, and more).
Connections offers a computer lab that allows clients access to computers, Internet, printer, and fax machine to conduct a job search, prepare cover letters and resumes, and check email. Use of computers is open to any job seeker who has been through Orientation during regular office hours.
